Job summary

Manulife’s Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) seeks a Manager, Operational Risk Management to support the Head of Risk for GWAM’s North America Retail and Operations lines. You will help implement the risk governance program, oversee risk mitigation activities, and coordinate with GWAM risk teams globally.

The ideal candidate has deep asset management experience across assets, funds and ETNs, and a solid framework in operational risk within a large financial institution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in risk management or other oversight functions in wealth/asset management.
• Strong knowledge of wealth and asset management industry and regulatory environment.
• Analytical, problem-solving, logic and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and present data from multiple sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Willingness to challenge conclusions while aligning with risk appetite.
• Collaborative, proactive team player with strong ethics.
• Experience using AI tools for efficient results.
• Bilingual English/French is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting information from the business for risk committee reports.
• Review and analyze risk data to assess exposure.
• Support metrics and reports for risk and business needs.
• Support Risk Officer with mitigation tracking and actions.
• Review risk events and corrective action tracking.
• Support oversight of risk framework including approvals, events, change risk and third-party risk.
• Coordinate with GWAM Risk teams for enterprise reporting.
• Build relationships with risk team members for timely reporting.
• Contribute to Risk Management initiatives and projects.
• Support a strong risk culture and accountability across the organization.
• Handle ad-hoc inquiries with timely responsiveness.
• Utilize AI and other tools to strengthen results.
