Job summary

City of Toronto is seeking a Senior Ontario Land Surveyor (Cadastral) to lead complex surveying projects for capital works and related initiatives within Engineering & Construction Services Division.

You will manage plan development, title opinions, and legal descriptions, supervise staff, engage consultants, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver accurate surveys, ensuring compliance with laws and city policies.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Licensed Ontario Land Surveyor in good standing.
• Experience leading field and office surveys and title work.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage large, complex multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead surveying programs and capital works projects.
• Prepare legal descriptions, title opinions, and reports.
• Oversee staff and coordinate with Council, staff and consultants.
• Represent the City in meetings and as expert witness when required.
