Job summary

Stantec in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Senior Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews, ensure safety, and maintain high surveying standards. You will oversee legal, topographic, and engineering surveys across urban and rural projects with Trimble and UAV-enabled workflows.

The role requires extensive experience in land surveying, crew leadership, and proficiency with RTK GPS, 3D LiDAR, and robotic total stations. Travel to remote Ontario sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or college diploma in Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
• Experience managing a field crew of 1–3 individuals.
• Advanced drone operators license preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in land surveying.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior field staff in industry best practices in field and office.
• Adhere to Stantec safety policies.
• Design and implement traffic control plans for land surveying on regional roadways.
• Perform field surveys in all weather conditions and various terrains.
• Conduct legal, topographic, and engineering surveying.
