ZRS is currently looking for a Senior Oil, Gas, and Energy Risk Services Consultant with knowledge of insurance risk control programs.

Reporting to the Manager of Energy and Construction, you will be both an Account Coordinator and Field Representative managing multiple accounts. They will be responsible to work with our underwriting partners to manage Zurich's Oil, Gas and Energy portfolio's risk quality, support selected customer risk control programs, coordinate and conduct site risk assessments, develop account analysis and coordinate stewardship meetings, following Zurich global technical standards as well as recognized national / international codes.

What you will do :

Assesses the quality of complex risks, mainly for key / strategic assets, as described in the Risk Engineering Q2P Standard(s) and related competency level.

Risk assessments frequently cross applicable lines of business or industries and include desk top assessments and reviews of assessments from Zurich Risk Engineers or other approved sources.

Assesses loss potentials in accordance with agreed definitions.

Develops Customer Service Plan for coordinated accounts that drive efficient field service.

Ensures the delivery and quality of services to the account by Zurich Risk Engineering as well as ensures consistency of assessments, risk improvement advice, reporting and time & expense management across the account.

Communicates effectively with field risk engineers and nurtures relationships with industry partners such as brokers, industry consultants, professional organizations, and approval authorities.

Supports external customers by identifying, assessing and reducing the risks that their key / strategic assets face and on an overall account basis.

Provides basic risk benchmarking services and account-wide risk improvement programs for the account.

Provides expert advice on risk management issues to internal business partners and external customers by being a strategic partner to the customer's Risk Manager and by providing extensive risk insights.

Acts as an expert and mentor within the Network on matters relating to Risk Engineering assessments and to the coordination of service programs.

Explores new service area opportunities, develops new lines of business or customer services and identifies areas for cross-selling.

Meets realistic expectations of customers and Underwriting.

Manages change within the account by keeping in close contact with customer management and business partners, reviewing new projects and plans for change.

Responsible for conducting cost estimations (bundled and unbundled) and budget controls of the account Demonstrates a profound understanding of the RE network, functions, procedures and responsibilities.

What you bring to the table :

Job Qualifications

Required :

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Oil, Gas, and Energy.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Oil, Gas, and Energy.
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Oil, Gas, and Energy.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Civil, or related degree.
  • Industry experience in the Oil, Gas and Energy sector.
  • Account oversight experience as a Risk Services consultant with middle market or large customers property and casualty lines of business and programs.
  • Capable of managing and coordinating Oil and Gas assessments (Property, Machinery Breakdown, Liability, Business Interruption…) for middle market and large customers with multiple locations.
  • Strong communication and results-oriented consultative skills.

For Quebec : Fluency in both spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
