B2Gold is seeking a Buyer based in Edmonton, responsible for managing procurement processes and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have significant purchasing experience preferably in mining or heavy industries. B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Procurement Supervisor, this position is based in Edmonton, Canada.
Responsibilities
• Procure goods, materials, components, and services ensuring they meet specified quality and delivery targets. Prepare and raise purchase orders, ensuring completeness and accuracy;
• Prioritize purchase requests according to project requirements to ensure timely procurement;
• Track, expedite and arrange shipping for incoming materials;
• Process purchase orders and revisions promptly, monitor open orders, expedite overdue orders, and ensure timely delivery and compliance with purchase terms;
• Source appropriate suppliers using various methods and analyze quotes based on quality, price, freight mode, and delivery time;
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to secure the best deals for the company;
• Act as an intermediary between suppliers, end users, and other relevant departments. Communicate purchase order status to end users and senior management;
• Validate and reconcile shipping and payment documents, resolve billing issues, and maintain tracking and reporting systems. Support ERP system operations/enhancements and other improvement initiatives; and
• Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s Health and Safety standards, Company policies, and department rules and procedures.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
• Five (5) years of purchasing, expediting, contracts and/or procurement with at least 2 years experience as a Buyer in mining (preferred), oil & gas, construction, or heavy industry required;
• Post-secondary diploma or higher in procurement, supply chain, business, commerce, or related required. Possession of SCMP, CSCP or equivalent Supply Chain professional qualification or studying towards it is an asset;
• Parts technician certification is an asset;
• Excellent communication skills, strong time management and organizational skills, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and receiving orders on time; and
• Proficient/Expert level in Excel. Strong experience with SAP or any other ERP systems and the ability to support system improvement initiatives.
