Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking a Controls Technologist/Engineer for a major Oil & Gas client in St. John's, NL. The role focuses on industrial automation, PLC/HMI/DCS integration, and offshore operations.

The candidate should have extensive experience with Siemens S7-1500 PLCs, TIA Portal, WinCC RT Advanced, and strong OT networking skills to support offshore drilling drive systems and DCS interfacing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in industrial control system programming and troubleshooting.
• 2+ years programming Siemens S7-1500 PLCs using TIA Portal with WinCC RT Advanced.
• OT background with strong industrial Ethernet and IP networking experience.
• Experience with PROFIBUS and PROFINET over copper and fiber.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and DCS integration.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform root cause analysis on control systems.
• Provide software support and drive system integration across PLC, HMI, and DCS platforms.
• Coordinate with drilling equipment interfaces (top drive and draw works).
• Read electrical schematics and network architectures to support offshore operations.
