The YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a Comptroller to oversee and lead the organization’s finance function in St. John’s. Reporting to the CFO, you will provide financial leadership and ensure day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities include guiding financial strategy, supporting decision-making, and strengthening financial performance. CPA designation and nonprofit experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting or equivalent experience focusing on financial oversight.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Leadership experience with ability to guide a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the organization’s finance function.
• Partner with leadership to guide financial strategy and decision-making.
• Support operational decision-making and strengthen financial performance.
• Involved in detailed finance activities including payroll and controls.
