The Role:
The seniornetworkadministrator is responsible for several duties within the Johnson Controls Sustainable Infrastructure ICAT(Information, Communication, Automation, Technology)team, including architecting, deploying, and maintainingnetwork equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless.
Responsibilities
- Manage theprocurement processand physical installationfor new network equipmentacross multiplecustomer sites.
- Manage and maintain the structured cablingacross multiple customer sites.Schedule and manageelectrical and cabling contractorsto perform required work.
- Install, configure, harden, and maintainnetworkoperating systems.
- Configure and troubleshootfirewall/IPS policies and access control lists.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot cybersecurity products such astwo-factor authentication and endpoint protectionsolutions.
- Perform wireless surveys to identifycoverage and performance issues. Implement system improvements to addressdeficiencies.
- Maintainanasset/softwareinventory,system documentation, and diagramsfor allnetwork infrastructures across customer sites.Write standard operating procedures documentationand facilitate knowledge transfer to junior network administrators for coaching.
- Manage multiple methods ofsoftware and configurationbackup. Create and maintain backup documentation outliningstandard operating procedures, schedules, andsystemas-builtconfiguration.
- Deploy, configure, harden, and maintainnetworkmanagementsystems(i.e. HPE IMC, Cisco Catalyst Center, SolarWinds, PRTG)that performs system monitoring,log aggregation, and alerting.
- Work with OEMs,vendors, contractors, and customersin order to troubleshoot issues,request quotes,manage service agreements, andexecute hardware warranty RMAs.
- Performdaily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenanceincludinghealth checks,software patching, generating reports,system upgrades,etc.
- Assist with creating and maintainingdisaster recovery and business continuity practices and documentation.
- Perform cybersecurity audits ofnetwork and OTsystems,participate in vulnerability assessment exercises, and coach the wider teamon cybersecurity best practices.
- Follow incident management proceduresand log all work completed in theIT ticketing system. Work with stakeholders to perform efficient and effective troubleshooting of issues, perform root cause analysisstudies, and implement system improvementsto reduce incident occurrences.
- Comply with all Johnson Controls safety policies and procedures.Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
- Assist the ICAT team with installing, configuring,maintaining, and troubleshooting building systems thatfall under the team’s shared responsibility.
- On-site attendance five days a weekand participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Mentor junior team membersandtrain them to perform common tasks.
Require Qualifications
- Completion of abachelor’s degreeincomputer science,information technology, orequivalentfield.
- A minimum oftenyears’ work-related experiencein the outlined rolewith demonstratedmasteryofallresponsibilities outlined above.
- ValidCCNPcertificationor equivalent.
Required Skills
- Must be able to work varying shifts and overtime as required.
- Must be able to passprovincial and federalcriminalrecordcheck and subject interview.
- Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks, which includes ability to climb ladders, use hand tools, lift heavy objectswith assistance, etc.
- Excellent communication, information gathering, and documentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills and punctuality.
- Ability to commute throughout the GTAon a daily basisand to remote sites on an infrequent basis.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarization with cybersecurity best practicesand hardening techniqueswith regards tonetwork equipment, server operating systems, workstations, and OT.
- History of attaining theCompTIA A+ certification.
- History of attaining the ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification.
- Validcybersecurity relatedcertifications.

SALARY RANGE : $90,000 - $125,00- CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
