Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Navigation Engineer within the GNC and Avionics team to design, implement, and test advanced navigation systems. You will lead estimation algorithms, including Kalman filters for INS, and model inertial sensors and GPS to ensure high accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in navigation systems analysis, design, and testing.
• Demonstrated Kalman filter expertise for INS.
• Strong knowledge of inertial sensors and GPS.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Proficient in C++ or Python for algorithms.
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Eligibility for U.S. citizenship or status as a permanent resident or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test advanced navigation and estimation algorithms, focusing on Kalman filters for INS.
• Model and simulate inertial sensors and GPS to assess system performance.
• Lead integration of navigation components within GNC and avionics.
• Develop and execute test plans in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop.
• Analyze sensor data to calibrate IMUs and other sensors.
• Troubleshoot navigation-related issues during testing and operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
