Job summary

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists Limited. seeks a Senior Municipal Engineer to join our Atlantic Canada team, supporting multiple GEMTEC locations and guiding projects from design through delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, has 8+ years of municipal/infrastructure experience, and is proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Bilingual in French and English and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from an accredited University.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering consulting, including municipal and infrastructure design.
• Proven experience in project management, including budget, schedule, and client coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel

Responsibilities

• Supporting all GEMTEC locations across Atlantic Canada, including travelling as needed.
• Preparing engineering drawings, technical reports,specifications, and tender documents.
• Collaboratingwithmultidisciplinary teams to develop practical, cost-effective design solutions.
• Reviewing drawings and designs to ensure accuracy,complianceand constructability.
• Supporting construction administration activities, including siteinspectionsand responding tocontractor’sinquiries.
• Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce and review detailed civil design plans.
• Communicating with clients, municipalities, and other stakeholders to keep projects on track and aligned with expectations.
• Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff as needed.
• Office-based design/project management with Site Visits to projects asrequired.

A typical day on the job might look like:

• Registered or eligible for registration with APEGNB.
