GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists Limited in Fredericton, NB, is seeking an experienced Contaminated Sites Professional at an intermediate level to join our growing team. You will apply engineering and environmental principles to manage complex site projects, collaborating with government and private sector clients.

This role emphasizes Phase I–III ESAs, remediation programs, risk assessments, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires an undergraduate degree in Civil/Environmental/Geoscience.
• Professional designation (P.Eng./P.Geo.) in Canada is required.
• Minimum 5 years of contaminated sites experience.
• Knowledge of provincial/federal environmental regulations.
• Strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting as an Environmental Professional for contaminated sites management.
• Apply science and engineering to multi-disciplinary projects.
• Manage Phase I–III ESAs and remediation programs.
• Prepare and review proposals and technical reports.
• Collaborate with the Environmental Team and other GEMTEC lines.
• Support growth and development of the Environmental Team.

Are you an experienced Contaminated Sites Professional looking to progress your career? We're looking for an intermediate level Contaminated Sites Professional to join our growing team in Fredericton, NB

A typical day on the job might look like:

• Providing consulting services as an Environmental Professional in contaminated sites management for government and private sector clients.
• Applying scientific and engineering principles to multi-disciplinary environmental projects.
• Managing and completing contaminated sites projects, including Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, risk assessments, and environmental compliance monitoring.
• Preparing and reviewing proposals and technical reports.
• Collaborating with our Environmental Team and other GEMTEC service lines to design and deliver projects of varying sizes and complexities.
• Evaluating team needs and contributing to the growth and development of our Environmental Team.

Your background and what you bring:

• A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related field such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geoscience, etc.
• A Registered Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo.) in Canada is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing contaminated sites or a combination of related experience.
• A thorough understanding of provincial and federal regulations related to contaminated site management.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in preparing technical and cost proposals.
• Field program management, including resource and budget oversight.
• Ability to build business relationships with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
• Technical experience in hydrogeology and/or environmental risk assessment is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel.
