Job summary

CSG Talent is conducting a confidential search for a Senior Metallurgist for a Canadian gold producer operating an underground mine in Ontario. You will lead the site's day-to-day metallurgical function, balancing technical judgement with practical implementation on a lean site team.

Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist and collaborating with the Mill Manager and operations leadership, you will own metallurgical performance, drive improvements in recovery and throughput, and mentor the

Qualifications

• Degree in metallurgy, mineral processing, chemical engineering or closely related discipline.
• Minimum six years' experience in gold processing operations.
• At least two years at Senior Metallurgist level or progressive responsibility toward this level.
• Hands-on experience in gold plant operations using cyanide leaching and CIL/CIP.
• Strong ownership of metallurgical accounting, reconciliation, sampling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own metallurgical performance across recovery, throughput, grind size, reagent consumption, circuit stability and product quality.
• Lead, coach and develop metallurgists, technicians and refinery personnel.
• Provide technical leadership to processing operators and frontline supervisors.
• Maintain metallurgical accounting, production reconciliation and performance reporting.
• Develop mass balances, sampling plans and QA/QC systems.
• Investigate plant-performance issues and translate findings into improvements.
• Support optimisation across crushing, grinding, gravity recovery, leaching, elution and refining.
• Identify opportunities to increase recovery and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with geology, mine planning, maintenance and production teams.
• Contribute to Life-of-Mine planning and capital decisions.
