Job summary

Dynacare’s Kelowna Core Lab seeks a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to deliver high-quality clinical testing and reporting. You’ll handle chemistry and hematology duties, ensure specimen integrity, and provide timely results used by physicians for patient care.

The role is a permanent full-time onsite position with relocation support for qualified candidates and a competitive pay rate. You will contribute to equipment maintenance, QC, and process improvements in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years experience as a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist.
• CSMLS Registration in good standing.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Nice to have: experience in Chemistry or Hematology.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
• Perform routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology including analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting.
• Maintain quality control standards, investigate missing samples and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Record, interpret and/or approve test results.
• Identify and report incidents and non-conformities.

We’re looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Kelowna, BC. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Status: Permanent Full Time

Vacancy Type: Existing

Shift: Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

How YOU will make a difference:

• Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.


• Performing routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology which includes but not limited to analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting.


• Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.

What YOU bring to the role:

• You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment


• You have a minimum of 6 years experience as a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist


• You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment


• Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing


• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level


• Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution


• Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.

Pay rate: $40.00-$47.50 per hour

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
