Job summary

Albarrie Canada Limited is seeking a Mechanical Technician at our Barrie, Ontario site. Under the Engineering Manager, you will edit CAD drawings, create and revise BOMs, troubleshoot design issues, and assist with cost modeling and other engineering projects.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, QA and IT, perform time studies, source parts, and maintain change control while working on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing/industrial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical designs and BOMs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• ERP experience is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Manufacturing and Sales to develop and review engineering drawings and layouts.
• Create BOMs for Albarrie products and add items in ERP.
• Maintain change control for BOM updates based on drawings.
• Develop initial product cost models from design and BOM perspectives.
• Perform time studies with the manufacturing group on new and existing products.
• Support sales on product development by evaluating machine parameters and findings.
• Research and source parts and create requisitions for approval.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process engineering and design initiatives.
• Participate in other engineering projects as required.
