The Opportunity:

Join WSP as a Project Engineer – Mechanical (MEP) and be part of our growing, forward-thinking Buildings team based in Hamilton. You’ll play a key role in leading complex mechanical engineering projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

This opportunity is based in Southwest Ontario, with flexibility to work from our Burlington, Cambridge, Kitchener, or London offices

What you can expect to do here:

  • Act as the either lead Mechanical Engineer or Project Manager on complex projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Lead a project specific mechanical design team.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure project success.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Ensure all engineering work meets quality standards and codes, while ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in engineering consulting industry focus on the design of mechanical systems for buildings
  • A valid PEO license.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience with leading mechanical design teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in design of Mechanical systems across various facility types.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • An ability to work collaboratively.
  • Desire to participate in client management and business development activities.
