Job summary

PML Professional Mechanical Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead its Construction Team on major mechanical projects. The role focuses on mechanical design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring safety and quality in line with contract documents.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee trade contractors, procurement, and coordination with design teams to deliver on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10+ years of progressive experience in construction project management.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, materials, and applicable codes.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in accordance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor and vendor performance.
• Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost-effective project plans and construction schedules with the General Contractor.
• Oversee performance of trade contractors; procure materials and equipment; review drawings for compliance.
• Prepare, administer, and negotiate contracts, change orders, revisions, and scopes; obtain permits.
• Track budgets, forecasts, reports, and costs; address delays to maintain schedule and budget.
• Interpret and communicate plans, specs, and contract requirements to teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Field Supervision to determine labour requirements and resource allocation.
• Investigate site issues and resolve procedural, quality, or construction concerns.
• Evaluate construction methods for efficiency; implement quality control processes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the company with General Contractors, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Promote a safe, productive environment and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure project closeout documentation and contractual requirements are completed.
