Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Sudbury, Ontario to lead mechanical and piping activities for major mining and industrial projects. You will define execution strategies, manage a multidisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

The role requires 10+ years of industrial experience, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and a P.Eng. designation, with demonstrated leadership to meet schedules and budgets while driving project

Qualifications

10+ years of mechanical and piping engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
P.Eng. designation.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Experience in mining, smelting, and mill operations.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee mechanical/piping engineering activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, regulatory, client, and engineering standards.
Develop project execution strategies, engineering deliverables, work plans, budgets, and schedules with the Engineering Manager.
Manage engineering work packages and resources to meet deliverables on time and within budget.
Review and approve technical designs and system requirements to support project execution.
Coordinate mechanical/piping activities with multidisciplinary teams and represent the discipline in coordination meetings.
Ensure QA through audits, documentation control, and adherence to project procedures.
