Job summary

ALTEN Canada is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead design packages for customer-purchased water treatment solutions. You will guide the engineering and manufacturing of systems to meet client specs, budget, and compliance, leveraging CAD, ERP, and P&IDs.

The role requires 10+ years in water/wastewater design, P.Eng, and strong experience with ASME codes, process equipment specs, and client interfaces.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater treatment design, with a focus on custom systems (MBR, RO, softeners, pressure vessels).
  • P.Eng designation or active licensure.
  • Proven experience in design, calculations, and compliance with ASME codes and standards.
  • Experience sizing, engineering calculations, and technical specifications for compressors and related process equipment.
  • Proficiency with P&IDs, process flow diagrams, control narratives, and system integration.
  • Experience managing BOMs within ERP systems for engineering and manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to interface directly with clients and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD for P&IDs, ERP systems, and 3D modeling tools (Inventor, SolidWorks).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.

Role Summary:

The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for preparing the design packages for customer purchased custom wastewater/water treatment solutions. Design and support the engineering and manufacturing of water treatment systems to ensure client specifications, budget and compliance requirements are met.

Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $90,000 – $110,000 per year.
