Job summary

Pioneer Transformers, part of the ERMCO Group, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to independently design, develop, and optimize transformers and related components. You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality and sales teams to ensure designs meet customer specs and industry standards.

This permanent, on-site role in Mississauga offers mentoring of junior engineers, ongoing improvement initiatives, and a team-focused, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in transformer or related product design.
• Proficiency with design and analysis tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, FEA).
• Experience updating ERP data related to engineering processes.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, CSA standards and DOE regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and develop transformers and related components, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specs.
• Conduct analyses to optimize performance, cost, and efficiency.
• Perform failure analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and service teams.
• Participate in design reviews and maintain detailed engineering docs.
