Job summary

WalterFedy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to plan and lead complex assignments, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while collaborating with clients and external agencies. The role emphasizes design optimization, cost reduction, and team leadership across HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification.
• 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision, applying extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering and relevant codes and standards.
• Modify established guidelines and devise new approaches to meet project requirements.
• Develop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower costs and enhance work quality.
• Solve unique design and engineering issues through innovative approaches or criteria application.
• Coordinate complex tasks and ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively within budget and schedule.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate the work of engineers and designers.
