Job summary

MDS Aero Support in Ottawa, ON, is seeking an intermediate/senior Mechanical Engineer for a one-year contract. You will contribute to the detailed design, analysis, and fabrication planning for gas turbine test facilities in a global setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 4+ years of relevant experience, and PEO membership or eligibility. You will lead design reviews and prepare technical documentation for installation and commissioning across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills.
• Experience designing mechanical systems and leading design reviews.
• Experience with mechanical design of welded/bolted structures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Detailed design and analysis of mechanical systems and equipment layouts.
• Plan, develop, and manage designs from concept through fabrication and installation, including documentation and drawings.
• Chair design reviews and provide technical support during procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
• Oversee designers in producing detailed drawings and support travel for international design reviews/inspections.
• Develop and improve department design processes and procedures.
• Ensure PEO membership or eligibility is maintained.
