Job Description

AECOM Buildings + Places , the company's architectural business unit, it seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based out of the Halifax, Nova Scotia-area. This individual will work on Marine buildings, facilities and infrastructure such as jetties, wharfs and piers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides specialized technical input to Mechanical studies and design of Marine facilities and infrastructure such as jetties, wharfs and piers
  • As a senior technical resource, the job incumbent may serve as technical advisor for team
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
  • Prepares technical specification sections
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, no less than:
  • A University Degree in Mechanical Engineering + six (6) years of relevant experience in the Mechanical design of various buildings, facilities

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
  • Engineering designation (P.Eng) required

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in the Mechanical design of Marine buildings, facilities and infrastructure, such as jetties, wharfs and piers an asset but not mandatory
  • Experience with "Ship to Shore" mechanical services design, such as oily water, sanitary, bilge water, compressed air etc.

  • Company paid relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,656.00 - $130,000.00.
