Job Description:
Are you a talented engineer with a passion for cutting-edge innovation and a drive to tackle complex challenges? Our client is seeking a seasoned engineer to join their innovative team, offering expertise in the full lifecycle of product development. The role will involve leveraging advanced skills in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Six Sigma methodologies, Factor of Safety (FOS) Engineering, and in-depth strength and material analysis. The successful candidate will ensure the highest quality standards by adhering to ISO/ASTM protocols.
This position sits at the heart of the R&D department, reporting directly to the Engineering Director and collaborating on design and testing initiatives. A blend of creativity, project management, critical thinking, and passion is essential for success. Our client values individuals who pursue perfection while balancing commercial viability. The role demands hands-on involvement, requiring a proven track record of lab work, prototyping, and rigorous validation to meet life safety, amusement, and industry design standards.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead project teams through iterative design and testing to develop safe, profitable products.
● Serve as a key member of the R&D team, contributing to engineering and product design.
● Act as a designer, mentor, safety engineer, and QA gatekeeper, ensuring assemblies meet specifications and testing requirements.
● Drive product development via detailed drawings, digital collaboration, and direct vendor/internal team interaction.
● Conduct tests to evaluate material strength, durability, and capacity.
● Perform preliminary material load calculations and collaborate with endorsing engineers to meet standards.
● Integrate new technologies, products, and materials.
● Uphold quality control standards and implement updated QA protocols as needed.
Ideal Skills and Abilities:
● Apply engineering principles to develop innovative structural designs.
● Optimize designs for ergonomics, aesthetics, production efficiency, reliability, and cost.
● Create technical documentation, including test plans, verification reports, manufacturing guidelines, and user manuals.
● Collaborate with vendors and teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturing precision.
● Troubleshoot and resolve project/product development challenges.
● Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery.
● Proficiency in Solidworks (Simulation, Stress/Strain Analysis, Photoview 360) and Microsoft Office.
● Strong interpersonal skills and a hands-on approach to development and testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with SketchUp, Mastercam (4-axis mill/lathe), CNC controls, and G code.
● Knowledge of ASTM F24 Amusement Guidelines and ISO/ASTM/CE QA standards.
● Understanding of microeconomics and accounting principles.
● Advanced fabrication skills (welding, machining, CAM).
● Bachelor’s degree + 10+ years in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.
● GD&T and design for manufacturability expertise.
