The Opportunity :

Reporting to the Manager, M&E, this position will be responsible for applying mechanical engineering knowledge on project work from conceptual design through completion in areas such as commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional buildings. Key responsibilities include ensuring technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and guiding a team of designers / technicians.

Responsibilities include :

  • Managing design projects from start to finish, applying professional engineering expertise.
  • Ensuring designs meet codes and standards, preparing specifications and drawings.
  • Using industry-specific software for design and analysis.
  • Participating in client management, business development, and proposals.
  • Preparing engineering designs for HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fuel Systems.
  • Project management including financial review, budgeting, and milestone delivery.
  • Attending design and coordination meetings.
  • Reviewing construction projects and managing construction engineering correspondence.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years in a mechanical consulting engineering environment.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) licensed in Ontario.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • LEED accreditation and sustainable design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, HAP, Trane TRACE, and MS Office; Revit experience highly desirable.
