Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Salary: $100k+ depending on experience

Sector: Buildings Engineering

Work Arrangement: Remote / Hybrid - with site visits / travel to BC required

We are proud to partner with a leading consulting engineering firm in Calgary, seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer. The role involves working on government and institutional projects, requiring RCMP and PSPC reliability clearance. The firm boasts an excellent reputation and offers a hybrid work model.

The Role

In this senior position, you will be responsible for designing and executing projects of varying size and complexity, primarily focusing on government and institutional projects. A P.Eng designation and RCMP clearance are required. Responsibilities include design, technical work, project management, site visits, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical design for institutional and government projects
• Coordinate and oversee mechanical engineering drawings and specifications
• Maintain strong client relationships and project execution
• Conduct peer reviews of calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Prepare technical specifications and bidding/construction documents
• Design HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems
• Perform site visits and client coordination
• Manage projects and collaborate with teams

Requirements

• 8+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in building projects (commercial, public, etc.)
• Licensed Engineer in BC or AB
• RCMP Security Clearance
• PSPC Reliability clearance
• Strong engineering judgment, creativity, and problem-solving skills
• Deep understanding of mechanical concepts and communication skills
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, standards, and codes
• Experience with BIM and Revit is an asset
• Excellent organization, coordination, and project management skills
• Effective communication and team leadership abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed
