Job summary

WeighPack in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead a team of designers under the Mechanical Design Lead. You will help sustain and develop our machine catalogue, collaborating with Product Management and Engineering to drive the roadmap and ensure high-quality designs.

The role requires experience in machine design, leadership, and bilingual ability in French and English, with proficiency in ERP systems, CAD tools, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• College Diploma in relevant field required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Experience as a mechanical designer required.
• Machine design experience is an asset.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of ERP (Syspro) / Database, AutoCad, SolidWorks, CAD Talk, and ePDM is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Being functional in French and English is required.

• Planning and delegating the work for the team in collaboration with the Product Manager
• Collaborate with the Product Manager & Engineering Manager to define our product roadmap and project plan
• Guiding designers through their projects by reviewing and approving the design and making sure the quality is up to standard;
• Working with other departments & the engineering team to deliver the best product possible
• Help build and define our product catalogue with our modular approach to machine design
• Provide proactive, timely and accurate support to the team in the form of preparing various documents, reports, track KPI’s etc.

About the position:

Working under the Mechanical Design Lead, your team consist of multiple mechanical designers. The mechanical team is responsible of our product catalogue.

This includes the sustaining of our product line, as well as the continuous development of our machine. This group is responsible to manage and solve all ECR as well as work closely with the Product Management group to work on the roadmap for our product. This includes new revision of machine, new generation of machine, new options development and many more. The leader will be asked to collaborate with the controls team as well.

We are looking for an experience mechanical designer with leadership ability that can supervise a group of designers while influencing the quality of the design.
