Job summary

Tamno is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop compact consumer electronics with hands-on product development from concept to production. You will own mechanical design, simulate, prototype, tooling, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of post‑graduate mechanical design experience, 3+ years in small electronics, strong 3D CAD and FEA skills, and a solid grasp of DFM/DFA and injection‑mold tooling. Hybrid in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional mechanical design experience after graduation.
• 3+ years designing small consumer electronics or compact electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience taking a compact product from design through tooling, validation and manufacturing.
• Strong 3D CAD capability and production-ready designs.
• Experience with FEA for structural analysis.
• Experience with injection-molded plastic components.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to work hybrid in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design and development of compact consumer-electronics products and assemblies.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD designs for prototype and production manufacturing.
• Perform FEA and use results to guide engineering decisions.
• Design components and assemblies involving plastics, metals, PCBs, switches, and other tight integrations.
• Perform dimensional and tolerance analysis for sensitive assemblies.
• Develop prototypes and engineering samples and perform testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners in China throughout tooling, validation, pilot production, and ramp.
• Review designs for DFM and DFA with manufacturers and tooling suppliers.
• Review injection mold tooling proposals and first‑article parts.
• Resolve production issues with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
