Job summary

Matrox Graphics Inc., located in Dorval, Quebec, seeks a Winter 2027 CAD Intern for Hardware Engineering to participate in development of enclosures and mechanical assemblies. You will create 3D concepts and 2D drawings, position PCB components, and perform tolerance analysis using SolidWorks and FreeCAD, contributing to prototype fabrication and quality improvements.

The role requires hands-on design work, ability to collaborate across teams, and an interest in EMI/electrical/mechanical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial design (in progress).
• Very good knowledge of 3D design using SolidWorks / FreeCad.
• Interest in mechanical integration and enclosure design of electronic products.
• Interest in learning and understanding the certification requirements in electromagnetic, electrical, and mechanical compliance (FCC, UL, CSA, CE, etc.).
• Good understanding of DFMA.
• Ability to interact with multiple people, including subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously.
• Passionate about his work and high-end technologies.
• Autonomous, versatile and goal-oriented.
• Good knowledge of English and French, spoken and written.
• Knowledge of a programming/scripting language like Visual Basic would be an asset.
