Clio is more than just a tech company–we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

Clio is transforming how lawyers manage their practice, and we’re seeking a Senior Marketing Events Manager to join our Marketing team. This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices (Burnaby, Calgary or Toronto), remotely across Canada, or a combination of both.

As a Senior Marketing Events Manager, you will create and lead the execution of the plan to drive registrations, attendees, and achieve ticket revenue targets for the ClioCon, the best conference in legal. You’ll work as part of the ClioCon core team to contribute to the conference’s vision, execution, and our attendees' experience. You will work closely with the Marketing team and internal customer-facing teams to map out and execute the plan to hit our registration numbers and ticket revenue targets.

What your team does:

Our dynamic team is data-driven and results-focused on meaningful engagement with the legal community, our customers, and our prospects to support our business goals. The Strategic Engagement team has a diverse portfolio: managing bar partnerships, live events, monthly meetups, Clio’s CLE webinars, and marketing ClioCon.

Who you are:

You love bringing order to chaos and keeping many tasks on track. You’re excited about the world of events, thrive in an ever-changing environment, and want to see real-world results from the projects you help drive. You are an exceptional communicator and work well within a team. You openly give and receive feedback, and want to grow in your role and with the company.

What you'll work on:

  • Develop and evolve an overall conference marketing strategy, including pass sales forecasting to meet revenue targets, external campaigns and partnerships, and other initiative projects that elevate the conference brand and grow the conference reach;
  • Make recommendations and proactively measure and report on campaign performance, revenue and pass sales, budget, and the conference’s overall impact on the business;
  • Lead the ClioCon Marketing Squad and other cross-functional steering teams to align on needs, drive results, and move projects forward. This includes project managing, mentoring, coaching, and providing and receiving feedback;
  • Run high profile or key areas of the program independently of your manager and surfacing complex problems, constraints, bandwidth issues, and/or financial requirements for input and approval;
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities at once, with the capacity to execute against the current year’s conference while also looking ahead and executing against future years;
  • Solicit and aggregate market intelligence, as well as feedback from conference attendees and key stakeholders, to incorporate into a strategy and plan around how we improve the conference experience year over year;
  • Manage external vendor relationships and contract lifecycles, including vetting and presenting solutions to the conference team that maximize ROI and attendee experience;
  • Working with internal stakeholders to maximize attendee experience at the conference, including crafting the conference agenda, attracting industry speakers and topics, and ensuring that our conference theme and company goals are woven into the overall attendee experience;
  • Engage in team and company-based initiatives and discussions; understand how to intertwine, influence, and provide value adds to other areas of the business through your expertise and work;
  • Travel as required;
  • Additional duties as required.

What you may have:

  • 5+ years in marketing events and/or marketing program management
  • A proven track record of knocking goals out of the park by leading cross-functional efforts
  • The ability to quickly pivot and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience enabling sales and customer success teams
  • A master at working cross-functionally and getting buy-in from Senior Leaders
  • Experience handling and negotiating event and vendor contracts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Experience selling out large-scale events that are in-person, virtual, or a combination of both
  • Experience with the legal industry
  • Ability to navigate Asana, Excel, Cvent, and Salesforce with ease
  • Experience leveraging communities and partners to drive ticket sales and conference engagement
