Job summary

Englobe is seeking a marine engineer to join a dynamic team in Canada. You will conduct structural assessments, develop design concepts, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coastal and marine infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes health and safety leadership, regulatory compliance, and clear client-facing documentation, with a hybrid work arrangement and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 5 years in marine engineering, preferably in consulting or marine infrastructure.
• Experience with design, assessment, and construction of marine facilities (wharves, piers, docks).
• Strong knowledge of Canadian codes, standards, and best practices.
• Experience in design, construction inspection, project coordination, and management.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate health and safety leadership by promoting policies and practices.
• Conduct marine structural condition assessments, inspections, and site reviews; prepare reports.
• Evaluate marine structures made of concrete, steel, timber and other materials.
• Prepare deliverables including design calculations, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Support planning and delivery of marine projects across Atlantic Canada.
• Coordinate activities with structural engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop design concepts and practical engineering solutions for site requirements.
• Review shop drawings and provide technical recommendations during design and construction.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates to project managers and senior staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvement with innovative ideas and lessons learned.
