Job summary

GEMTEC is seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role is open to offices across Atlantic Canada, including Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, Grand Falls, Bathurst, Halifax, or St.

John’s, with hybrid work options. As an employee-owned firm of 400 multidisciplinary professionals, GEMTEC prioritizes hands-on mentorship, rapid opportunity realization, and a culture that rewards initiative.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of civil engineering experience including marine structures.
• Eligible to register or currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Atlantic provinces.
• Able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering designs for marine civil infrastructure projects (ports, harbours, bridges).
• Lead and mentor junior staff; coordinate discipline managers, engineers, designers, technicians.
• Manage projects to meet schedule and financial targets; prepare fee proposals.
• Prepare and review technical reports; participate in site visits and data gathering.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Maintain quality controls and promote safety on projects.
