Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Technology Innovation & Portfolio Management is responsible for driving strategic growth, fostering innovation, and overseeing AI-related research and project management. This role also involves conducting market research and recommending innovative technological solutions. Additionally, the Senior Manager will develop prototypes and business cases to ensure successful adoption plans. Furthermore, the Senior Manager will be responsible for portfolio and project management, prioritization, and ensuring that projects are aligned with business needs and that resources are allocated.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Overseeing the performance of project portfolio management, including project design, scheduling, budgeting, and execution. Developing and implementing IT portfolio management strategies to ensure project prioritization aligns with business needs. Using innovation as a strategy to suggest and implement mitigation for technology risks.
  • Leading prioritization and IT projects based on resource availability and aligned to the organization’s strategic objectives. Influences IT strategic plans and prioritization by researching and finding opportunities to innovate and recommending use of AI.
  • Supporting decision-making by analyzing and preparing dashboards and performance metrics for senior leadership and stakeholders. Providing insights into resource utilization, project progress, and performance against defined targets
  • Leading research and identifying emerging markets to explore new AI-driven technologies and innovation opportunities through customer feedback, data analysis, and AI-driven insights. Using findings to help shape the IT portfolio strategy and drive innovation within the organization. Provide user-centric, enterprise-grade solutions, manage portfolio development and fostering external partnerships.
  • Leading the creation and validation of prototypes for new technology offerings to meet market demands and enhance user experiences. Continuously combine innovative technology with strategic business goals to deliver impactful solutions that improve user satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Requirements That Are Important To Us

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Commerce, Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Six to ten years specialist experience in Information Technology projects, leading large-scale implementations focused on digital transformation and customer experience.
  • Four years in a leadership position
  • Three years’ experience in working with IT Portfolio management and PMO processes and standard project management methodology (PMI)
  • Three years’ experience with innovation using emerging technologies like AI, Automation, and Cloud Infrastructure.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) is required
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification and knowledge an asset.
  • Other nice to have certifications/designations include: CBAP, AI Certifications, Azure Cloud, LEAN/Lead Kaizen/Design Thinking/Six Sigma
  • Experience with systems development lifecycle, change management theory and practice, and technology adoption.
  • Experience with systems development IT projects, and integration approaches/platforms (Experience with Microsoft platforms and tools, CRM, Smartsheet)
  • Experience with business relationship management
  • Familiarity with AI ethics, regulatory compliance, and emerging AI trends
  • Knowledge of PMO and standard project management methodology (PMI)
  • Ability to collaborate with all areas of technology and experience working in multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with Business Analysis documentation and requirements-gathering techniques.
  • Experience in vendor management

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
