Some of what you will do:

The Sr. Manager, Signage + Visual Merchandising is responsible for leading the signage strategy and execution to drive brand loyalty and sales by presenting an outstanding store environment and customer experience through visual and signage presentation. This role will be responsible for providing leadership on all aspects of in-store signage, including creation, production, and communication to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of the Staples Brand. The role will ensure the brand is represented through the overall appearance and that the visual presentation meets established standards. As a key contributor to the business, the Sr. Manager will work cross-functionally across various departments to achieve sales and margin goals. The Sr. Manager will develop and execute assortment, promotions, and marketing tactics that develop a compelling visual strategy.

Specifically, You Will

1. Develop Staples Canada’s strategy and approach for visual merchandising standards and signage.
2. Lead the development and implementation of visual merchandising and signage management processes, systems, and tools.
3. Recommend and develop new ideas and concepts with merchandising teams for product presentation. Lead change and adapt to evolving customer needs and the connected customer experience.
4. Responsible for concept development of visual merchandising solutions, standards, and signage to accommodate unique store sizes and layouts.
5. Analyze market trends and company results for the product assortment to ensure placement of visual standards that elevate brand image by implementing consumer-centric visual standards.
6. Collaborate with Merchandising and the Merchandise Planning team to seek trends and insights about categories and assortments, driving a differentiated presence for Staples.

Some Of What You Need

1. Post-secondary degree/diploma with a focus on retail management and visual merchandising.
2. Ability to work with Creative Suite Design Programs.
3. Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
4. Passion for retailing and an entrepreneurial work environment.
5. Ability to travel.
6. Visual talent, with a keen understanding of brand, product, lifestyle, and consumer, being current and visionary.
7. Strong understanding of business needs and trends, with a track record of managing budgets and adhering to financial guidelines.
8. Ability to develop working knowledge of brand identity and aesthetics, with attention to detail.
9. 8-10 years of related experience with a strong design background, including concept development and production.
