PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions;
- Plan and lead management team meetings and guide Managers to ensure that unit objectives are achieved;
- Prepare, maintain and report on unit operational plans including strategic, tactical, budgetary, utilization and profitability plans, and implement process optimization plans;
- Assist with managing budgets, including profit and loss responsibility, and monitor purchasing, contracting, expenses, and vendor relationships;
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly billing reports for client invoicing;
- Project strategic management and client account management;
- Support various projects in collaboration with the Corporate office;
- Provide strategic direction with senior leadership to enhance programs and attain new business objectives, focusing on growth;
- Present to the executive Lead Team during Plan-to-Performance (P2P) meetings as required;
- Develop, present (for approval), implement, and track performance against strategic and tactical annual plans related to revenue and expenses;
- Establish and assign account management strategies;
- Contribute to business enhancement activities such as forecasting, new business development, communication, staffing, and client services;
- Set goals for business growth, attract new clients, and develop new services;
- Develop performance standards for managers and measure success;
- Assist with proposal writing, contracting, client presentations, and pricing strategies;
- Stay informed on industry trends and legislation affecting the business;
- Identify and collaborate with internal and external resources;
- Plan and review staffing based on demand;
- Manage performance reviews, objective setting, and training for direct reports;
- Lead the Program Manager Team and support product team development;
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of services; and
- Identify risks and promote quality improvement initiatives.
Responsible for reporting all Adverse Events to relevant units/departments. The Senior Manager, Programs, may also be assigned additional duties as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- University science/healthcare degree or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry;
- At least 2 years of management experience;
- 1-2 years of client management experience;
- Knowledge of post-marketing studies, Health Canada regulations, and risk management programs;
- Understanding of reimbursement and patient assistance programs, operational policies, and clinical research;
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
