Purpose

Monitors and analyzes assigned industries, segments or sub-segments’ trends and insights by promptly and proactively communicating potential portfolio opportunities, capital efficiency considerations and credir risk alerts to stakeholders, ensuring profitability improvement, concern escalation and timely action. Provides data-driven capital and process modernization recommendations for senior management consideration.

Contributes to the overall success of Commercial Banking in the International division, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives while also ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:
  • Supports senior management decision-making by translating portfolio analytics, capital efficiency insights and business-line knowledge into practical recommendations, with clear escalation of issues and barriers to execution
  • Proactively review portfolio through industries, segments, sub-segments, etc., to determine data-driven trends and insights that allow to identify risks and commercial opportunities on a regional level, including RWA, client concentration and capital-related data quality. Provide feedback on said data quality as well as data‑improvement roadmap to facilitate deeper analysis
  • Ensure and support Country and Regional Banking Leaders with insights, as well as follow up with any plans for offboarding industries, segments, sub‑segments or relationships
  • Assess portfolio profitability, capital consumption and risk‑adjusted returns to identify opportunities to improve capital efficiency, optimize portfolio mix and support sustainable profitability across Commercial Banking portfolios.
  • Organize and lead recurring RWA review with the Country Heads focused on capital optimization and proper returns‑based allocation
  • Provide tracking and visibility of call reports, capital efficiency opportunities and path‑to‑profitability commitments for presentation in regional Banking governance meetings, supporting improved profitability and disciplined portfolio execution
  • Serve as a resource to make loan transactions easier, providing input as SME on regional process improvements and enhancing the client experience through efficient credit structuring
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Centralize, manage and coordinate regional Banking audit issues, deploy action plans and maintain consolidated information to meet audit, risk and regulatory requirements while establishing proper control strategies with Banking and Risk Teams
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required
  • Work experience in portfolio analysis, portfolio management and financial analysis within the banking or financial services industry. Experience in finance, capital, Commercial Banking and/or Credit is preferable
  • Strong data analysis capabilities and comprehensive understanding of portfolio management, financial statements, industry trends, capital/profitability drivers, risk metrics, risk assessment techniques, and Commercial Banking (policies, processes, products and services)
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including AML/ATF regulations and operational risk management frameworks is an asset
  • Ability to provide analytical insights
  • Good Interpersonal and team working skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications e.g. MS Outlook, MS Teams and technology platforms (e.g. Sales Force, Power BI, Tableau)
Work Arrangement:

This position is currently a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work 3-4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
