Job description

Build the people function for a growing technology company

iTacit is a growing B2B SaaS company helping organizations connect, train and empower frontline teams. We're looking for an experienced Senior Manager, People & Culture to lead our people function and help build the programs, practices and culture needed for our next stage.

Supporting approximately 35–40+ employees across Canada and the US, this role requires someone equally comfortable developing strategy and putting it into action.

As our senior People & Culture leader, you'll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape people strategy, advise on complex employee matters, strengthen talent and performance, and evolve our HR practices as we grow.

This is not a strategy-only role. You'll be directly involved across the employee lifecycle, leading key HR activities from recruitment and employee relations to compensation, performance management, onboarding and policy development.

If you enjoy building, improving and taking ownership from concept through execution, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization.

About iTacit:

iTacit connects employees to everything they need to do their job. iTacit is an end-to-end digital workplace and training hub that puts email-free messages, a social intranet, digital forms, checklists and more into the hands of the front-line.

  • Lead workforce planning and identify emerging talent, capability and organizational needs.
  • Identify people-related risks, trends and opportunities and bring forward practical recommendations.
  • Coach and support managers in developing strong, accountable and high-performing teams.
  • Help ensure our people practices, policies and systems continue to scale with the organization.
Employee Relations & Performance
  • Serve as the senior HR resource for employees and leaders.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on performance management, employee relations, attendance, workplace conflict and other people matters.
  • Lead complex or sensitive employee matters, including performance improvement plans, accommodations, investigations, complaints and terminations.
  • Develop and continuously improve iTacit's performance management approach.
  • Coach and support managers in navigating performance discussions, development conversations and challenging employee situations.
  • Ensure employee matters are handled consistently, fairly and in accordance with applicable employment legislation.

  • Support annual compensation reviews and individual compensation decisions.
  • Review and evolve salary structures, incentive programs and other compensation practices as the organization grows.
  • Lead benefits strategy, renewals and provider relationships, balancing employee experience, competitiveness and cost.
  • Support benefits administration and employee issues as required.
Employee Experience, Engagement & Culture
  • Lead iTacit's employee engagement and retention strategy.
  • Develop and administer employee surveys, analyze results and translate findings into meaningful action.
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen communication, culture and the overall employee experience.
  • Identify trends affecting engagement and retention and recommend practical solutions.
  • Develop programs that support employee growth, recognition and development.
  • Build trusted relationships with employees and managers, ensuring People & Culture is seen as an approachable, credible and supportive resource.
  • Develop and evolve career pathways and progression frameworks that provide employees with greater clarity around growth and advancement opportunities.
  • Partner with leaders to identify development needs, succession opportunities and internal mobility.
  • Help establish clear expectations and competencies for progression within roles and across career levels.
HR Programs, Systems & Compliance
  • Own and continuously improve HR policies, processes and programs.
  • Monitor employment legislation and evolving HR practices and ensure iTacit remains compliant.
  • Oversee HRIS, employee records and people reporting, ensuring appropriate controls, confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Develop meaningful people metrics and reporting to support leadership decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve HR processes.
  • Support occupational health and safety requirements and programs.
  • Coordinate with external employment counsel and other HR advisors when specialized expertise is required.

  • Oversee the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through development, retention and offboarding.
  • Ensure new employees have an effective and consistent onboarding experience.
  • Establish meaningful 30/60/90-day practices and measures of onboarding success.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate administrative work so that time can increasingly be focused on higher-value people initiatives.
Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced HR professional who combines sound judgment and business acumen with a strong bias toward action and execution.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Approximately 7+ years of progressive Human Resources / People & Culture experience, including experience operating at a senior HR Manager, HR Business Partner or similar level.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a hands-on HR leader, with responsibility for both developing HR strategy and personally executing HR programs and initiatives.
  • Broad experience across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, benefits, HR policy and employment compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and managers on complex people matters.
  • Strong knowledge of New Brunswick employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience developing or improving HR programs, processes and systems—not simply administering established ones.
  • Experience developing career progression, competency or employee development frameworks would be an asset.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy and taking work from problem identification through recommendation, implementation and follow-through.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and coaching skills.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented approach and willingness to move between strategic and operational priorities as the needs of the business require.
  • Experience in a growing technology, SaaS or similarly dynamic organization would be an asset.
  • Experience supporting employees in multiple Canadian provinces and/or the United States would be an asset.
  • A CPHR designation is preferred; candidates with equivalant senior-level HR experience will also be considered.
