We’re looking for a dynamic, results-driven communications professional to join our Communications team and lead internal communications strategies that inform, engage and inspire Affirmers.

This role is essential to advancing Affirm’s business objectives by ensuring internal clarity around our vision, strategy and priorities, driving productivity, and cultivating employee advocacy for our brand. As a trusted partner to leadership and cross-functional teams, you will craft and execute compelling internal campaigns and narratives that reinforce company values, promote cultural initiatives, and motivate employees.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, persuasive storyteller, critical thinker, and problem solver. They are an excellent writer, highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about building employee pride and retention. They bring experience leading company-wide internal communications, excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and are collaborative, adaptable, and tenacious.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Internal Communications Strategy: Refine and execute a company-wide strategy that ensures consistent, clear messaging around Affirm’s vision, strategy, and priorities. Tailor communication efforts to align with organizational goals, while fostering transparency and clarity at all levels.
  • Optimize Internal Communications Channels: Oversee and enhance the effectiveness of key communication channels (e.g. All Teams meetings, Slack) to effectively reach employees and foster engagement.
  • Partner with Leaders and Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with other communications experts, marketers, the People team, and senior leadership to craft company-wide communications that support key initiatives - such as new programs, reorgs, and cultural projects - and ensure they resonate with employees. Provide coaching on internal messaging best practices and support executives in crafting messages in their authentic voices.
  • Drive Employee Engagement and Advocacy: Work closely with the People team to design and implement communications that reinforce company values, cultivate ownership and pride, and empower employees to become ambassadors for Affirm.
  • Manage Complex Communications: Partner with the Communications team and cross-functional stakeholders to effectively manage messaging for sensitive or challenging situations, ensuring effective communication, consistency, and alignment across internal and external communications.
  • Measure Impact and Refine Strategies: Define key performance indicators, assess the impact of internal communications efforts, and use both qualitative and quantitative feedback to continually improve strategies and ensure they’re aligned with Affirm’s evolving business needs.
What We Look For
  • 10+ years of communications experience — including at least 5 years in-house — with a proven track record of leading large-scale internal communications initiatives in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of building and executing internal communications programs that support business goals, drive employee engagement, and foster company culture.
  • Collaborative and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to partner across departments, influence key stakeholders, and drive initiatives forward autonomously.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Data-driven approach to communication, with experience measuring the impact of initiatives and refining strategies based on feedback and performance metrics.
