Job summary

Optimus SBR in Canada is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager for the Financial Services Group to drive transformational engagements across diverse banks, insurers, and payments players. You will lead client delivery, mentor teams, and shape strategic programs in a fast-paced consulting environment.

The role emphasizes stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate challenges into actionable plans while contributing to business development and practice evolution

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive experience in management consulting and financial services.
• Experience leading workstreams or full projects involving transformation and strategy.
• Knowledge across FSG domains like retail/commercial banking, capital markets, payments.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders in fast-paced client environments.
• Strong project management: scope, timelines, budgets, risks, team delivery.
• Excellent communication and facilitation; synthesize findings into recommendations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with hypothesis-driven approach.
• Experience coaching and developing team members in professional services.
• Collaborative, entrepreneurial, client-focused mindset.
• Willingness to travel as required by client needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex consulting engagements for clients in financial services.
• Advise on strategy, operating model design, and business transformation.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders as a key contact.
• Manage workplans, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and delivery quality.
• Lead workshops, interviews, and sessions to assess current-state processes.
• Support business development: proposals, client presentations, solution shaping.
• Translate complex challenges into clear, actionable plans and results.
• Collaborate across internal teams to bring best of the firm to engagements.
• Contribute to practice development: methodologies, tools, and market offerings.
• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and career development for teams.
• Support Optimus SBR’s Career Development Program (CDP) and culture.

Education

Related University Degree

MBA/MPA/MPP, PMP, CPA or similar designation
