Reporting to the Director of Loyalty and Partnerships Finance, and partnering with the Loyalty and Partnerships business, the successful candidate will oversee the liability reconciliation and settlement processes and maintain robust financial and accounting controls.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Working closely with the Director of Loyalty and Partnerships Finance, the successful candidate will oversee several settlement and reconciliation processes with internal and external partners pertinent to the loyalty partnerships involved with the program.
  • Individual will lead the Issues Management process, including investigating variance gaps, assessing financial impact and leading resolutions with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Individual will be accountable to ensure all documentation adheres to Scotia’s governance polices and are in accordance with SOX.
  • Individual will be accountable for reporting KPIs and understanding key business drivers.
  • Individual will be responsible for managing relationships with internal and external vendors, promotes a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Strong ongoing collaboration and communication across several partners and stakeholders on a regular basis ensuring all teams are informed and up to date on the reconciliations and settlements.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and implements activity that assists in attracting, retaining, developing and motivating their team by living the vison/values/business strategy of the team.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Skills

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 5+ years in accounting, finance, and/or loyalty programs
  • Alteryx workflow design experience
  • CPA/CFA or Business Degree, strong background in accounting, finance, mathematics
  • Demonstrated experience in Financial Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Excellent partnership skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships based on trust
  • Strong modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skills, ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from operational discussions to high-level, executive vision)
  • Detail orientated with excellent analytical, critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented, self-starter, with highly effective strategic influencing and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and tasks
