Job Summary

Come work as a Senior Manager, Facilities & Property Management with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

The Senior Manager, Facilities & Property Management oversees the effective property management of the real estate portfolio across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care. Reporting to the Director of Real Estate Operations, this role involves strategic planning, leadership, and collaboration to ensure portfolio success and staff performance. A comprehensive understanding of industry best practices, including building lifecycle management, financial and lease administration, and minor capital projects, is essential. The role emphasizes building maintenance but also requires expertise in all property management areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide expertise in property management including building maintenance, tenant relations, lease administration, budgeting, insurance, and risk management.
  • Foster a culture of caring, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and development for staff, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and standards.
  • Develop relationships with internal partners, landlords, and vendors.
  • Manage financial aspects including budgeting, forecasting, and capital funds.
  • Develop capital plans for leased and owned sites.
  • Oversee maintenance requests, site inspections, insurance claims, and project management for tenant improvements.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet standards and timelines.
  • Support staff problem-solving, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
  • Comply with occupational health, safety, and municipal regulations.
  • Maintain a network of real estate professionals for industry insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate or related field, with 5-7 years in leadership roles.
  • Experience in commercial property management, healthcare experience preferred.
  • Property management designation an asset.
  • Current BC Driver’s License may be required.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Proven portfolio management skills in large organizations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with facility projects and project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of legislation, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi and Maximo is an asset.
  • Physical ability to perform duties.
