About The Role

IAMGOLD is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Estimating to serve as the Company’s technical authority on capital cost estimating and support informed investment decisions across our portfolio of growth and sustaining capital projects. This role will lead the development of capital cost estimates for major mining projects and establish the standards, methodologies, and governance processes that drive consistency, accuracy, and reliability across the organization.

Working closely with project, engineering, construction, procurement, finance, and operations teams, the Senior Manager will oversee estimating activities from early-stage concept development through feasibility studies and execution planning. The role will provide expert guidance on estimating best practices, ensure alignment with IAMGOLD’s capital project framework, and support decision-making through robust cost analysis and forecasting.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide leadership in the development and delivery of capital cost estimates for major growth and sustaining capital projects, supporting initiatives from early concept development through feasibility studies and execution. You will establish and maintain estimating standards, procedures, methodologies, and governance frameworks while ensuring all estimates are supported by robust documentation and aligned with organizational requirements. You will also manage the corporate estimating database, historical cost information, benchmarking data, and productivity metrics to improve estimate accuracy, forecasting, and overall project performance.

As a key contributor to project success, you will perform estimate assurance activities including risk analysis, contingency development, escalation forecasting, and independent reviews of consultant, contractor, and vendor estimates. Working collaboratively with project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and operations teams, you will provide expert estimating guidance and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. You will communicate estimates and recommendations to senior leaders and investment committees, while managing external estimating resources to ensure high-quality deliverables and alignment with corporate standards.

Job Qualifications

Key Skills & Knowledge:

We’re looking for a collaborative and influential leader with a degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline, along with 15+ years of progressive experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial project estimating. Demonstrated experience supporting large capital projects, strong knowledge of industry estimating practices and governance, and the ability to communicate complex costing information to senior leaders are essential. Experience with estimating software, project controls systems, and capital project development frameworks is considered an asset.
