Job summary

IAMGOLD Corporation, a Canada-based mining company, seeks a Project Director – Côté Gold Expansion to deliver a major processing plant expansion. You will report to the Senior Director, Major Projects and work with site teams, contractors, and leaders to achieve safe, efficient, and value-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale industrial, mining, infrastructure, or capital projects through execution and commissioning phases.
  • Strong expertise in project governance, budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence stakeholders, and make sound decisions in complex environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to the Côté Gold site (approximately 25–40%, depending on the project phase).

  • Strengthen project performance by effectively managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and contractual commitments.

  • Guide and develop high-performing teams by creating clarity, engagement, and shared ownership of project goals.

About the Role

Project Director – Côté Gold Expansion

We are looking for a Project Director – Côté Gold Expansion to join our team, reporting to the Senior Director, Major Projects. In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of a major processing plant expansion, working closely with site teams, contractors, consultants, and business leaders to achieve safe, efficient, and value‑driven project outcomes. Your leadership will directly influence operational readiness, project performance, and long‑term growth at Côté Gold. Through strong governance, collaboration, and a commitment to Zero Harm, you will help shape one of Canada’s most innovative mining operations while creating lasting value for our people, partners, and communities.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to work that matters, helping to achieve meaningful results and collaborating with others to conduct business safely, responsibly and with purpose. Here’s what you’ll do:

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated success leading large‑scale industrial, mining, infrastructure, or capital projects through execution and commissioning phases
  • Strong expertise in project governance, budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and risk management
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence stakeholders, and make sound decisions in complex environments
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to travel regularly to the Côté Gold site (approximately 25–40%, depending on the project phase)
Assets
  • English is required; bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • PMP certification
  • Experience delivering major mining projects with significant CAPEX value
  • Experience implementing modular construction or modularization strategies
  • Knowledge of mining‑related health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and diverse stakeholder groups
