Overview

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Senior Manager, Engineering on a permanent basis on our Project Engineering team to work on-site in Regina, SK.

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to play an important role in our new Project Engineering structure. If you have proven experience delivering technically sound, cost-effective projects while shaping long-term engineering strategy, this may be the opportunity for you!

What you’ll do
  • Lead the Engineering team, within the Project Engineering group, in delivering sustaining capital projects, ensuring all engineering designs, calculations, and specifications meet regulatory, safety, and industry best-practice standards.
  • Lead the technical authority function across multiple disciplines reviewing complex engineering solutions, technical queries, and deviations to ensure reliability, operability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee project engineering execution, including scope definition, design verification, risk assessment, schedule management, inter-discipline coordination, and oversight of contract engineering resources ensuring projects meet technical and commercial objectives.
  • Direct the development and implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines, driving continuous improvement and consistency across the Technical Services department.
  • Provide oversight of procurement-related engineering activities, including equipment specifications, data sheets, vendor evaluation, bid clarification, and certification compliance.
  • Mentor and guide Lead Engineers and their teams, allocating resources effectively, monitoring technical KPIs, and ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with departmental objectives.
Who you’ll work with

The Team: You will lead a team of Lead Engineers across the primary disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Controls, each responsible for managing and developing their own teams of engineers, ensuring technical excellence across their portfolios.

Who you are

You are looking for a career in management and:

  • Have 8+ years of progressive technical and leadership experience in a heavy industrial setting with preference for petroleum refining and the petrochemical industry.
  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • Have a valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, ideally with APEGS.
  • Ideally, have experience working with or overseeing a cross-functional team of technical experts.
