Job summary

Proof is a remote-first data and analytics company in Canada, seeking a Senior Manager, Reporting & Data to lead its data team and own enterprise reporting for major clients. You will guide technical decisions, collaborate with clients, and expand internal BI capabilities while supporting Proof's growth and automation journey.

You will develop a team, ensure reliable reporting, and turn data into strategic insights that help clients operate efficiently and drive business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data, analytics, or reporting, including 3+ years managing a data or analytics team.
• Experience leading client discovery and explaining technical tradeoffs in plain language, including scope/timelines/quality.
• Experience delivering data into client systems through recurring extracts or agreed file formats, including reconciliation issues.
• Strong SQL proficiency and data-modeling knowledge; Python scripting is useful and encouraged to develop further.
• Experience with production data systems, data warehouses, pipelines, BI tools, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise reporting: translate client needs into clear requirements, ensure content accuracy and timely delivery.
• Own the client relationship and ensure clients succeed by providing necessary data and reports.
• Lead and develop the data team: set goals, coach, and help team grow to the next level.
• Guide technical delivery: plan capacity, review queries and data models, and assist with SQL or code changes as needed.
• Build dependable data systems: define standards for quality, monitoring, and access; collaborate with Engineering on data movement.
• Turn data into business insights: enable teams to use trusted data to understand performance and guide growth.
• Improve automation and tooling: decide when to build/buy/improve tools with Business Ops.
