Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for Canada and International business units, focusing on sales, trade, and marketing investments. Collaborate with functional leaders, understand risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions, and provide strategic options.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Deliver timely, accurate financial results, explain variances, and provide actionable insights to influence company performance. Support strategic updates to the SLT by highlighting key trends and initiatives.
  • Month-End Close Support: Prepare and review supporting documents for sales and trade spend, recommend accurate adjusting entries, and seek opportunities to streamline the process.
  • Business Partnership: Act as a strategic partner by providing financial insights for business planning, identifying margin improvement opportunities, and analyzing customer/product profitability.
  • Internal Controls & Audit: Oversee and improve internal control processes related to trade management to support audits and reviews.
  • IT Systems Support: Ensure effective SAP and reporting system functionality, collaborating with IT to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of 2-3 Commercial Analysts, embodying company values and inspiring others.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; CPA/MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience in the CPG industry.
  • Strong understanding of profitability metrics and data analytics.
  • Proven leadership in driving improvements and change management.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP, Power BI, trade systems.
