What You’ll Be Doing


As the Senior Manager, Business Analysis within CIBC’s Client Data Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Business Analysis function. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will lead a team of skilled Business Systems Analysts, providing mentorship, performance management, and strategic direction. Your leadership will ensure the seamless execution of day-to-day activities, while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including technology, product management, and business stakeholders, to deliver complex, enterprise-scale regulatory reporting projects. Your expertise in business analysis, combined with your ability to manage and inspire a high-performing team, will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of critical initiatives that align with CIBC’s strategic goals.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Understanding Requirements – Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, functional requirements, and reporting needs to document, communicate, and negotiate with stakeholders. Leverage best practices in use case analysis to define and document business and solution requirements effectively. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by providing guidance and direction to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that requirements work packages are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with internal partners to determine, negotiate, and manage services to agreed-upon standards, while monitoring service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • People Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing group team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.
  • Relationship Management – Collaborate with technical design and development teams across multiple lines of business to socialize requirements and support the development and build process. Coordinate and lead cross-functional tasks or work packages to identify and document functional and non-functional requirements, workflows, information sources, and system specifications. Partner with project managers, technical managers, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective communication, and successful project outcomes.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: minimum 3 years leading and/or managing a team primarily consisting of but not limited to, Business Analysts within a capital markets financial institution. You have experience with business process modeling, IT project management. You have experience on requirements gathering, documentation and data analysis.Ideally you have professional exposure to Stakeholder management, supporting the prioritizing of work, System Development Lifecycle, Application Delivery and implementation. You have previous experience with SQL, PowerBI and Azure DevOps.
  • It is an asset if: You have experience within Regulatory space (ie: Regulatory Compliance). Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles
  • You have a degree/diploma in: Computer Science/Engineering and/or a related field.
