Job summary

Distress Centre Calgary is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to lead fundraising initiatives and manage key donor relationships. You will develop strategic plans, write grant proposals, and collaborate with leadership to secure sustainable funding.

You will build and steward a portfolio of donors, prepare reports, and coordinate with foundations, corporations, and government funders to advance the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of major gift fundraising experience with donor portfolios.
• Strong writing, storytelling, and presentation abilities.
• Proven interpersonal and cultural competency in diverse settings.
• Ability to work with senior leaders and stakeholders to align priorities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to fundraising data and reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement major gift strategies to meet revenue goals.
• Manage an active portfolio of donors and prospects with stewardship plans.
• Create personalized recognition and updates to demonstrate impact.
• Collaborate with the CEO on high-priority donor relationships.
• Identify funding opportunities and prepare compelling proposals.
