Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Downtown Toronto, ON, is seeking a Senior Mainframe QE Analyst to validate mission-critical core deposit and account-processing applications. Hybrid/Onsite with remote flexibility, 6-12 month contract-to-hire.

You will lead functional testing across core banking systems, coordinate multi-project bundles, and mentor junior testers while providing senior technical analysis to project teams. Strong mainframe and testing tool expertise required.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of quality engineering experience in a large mainframe system.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe testing tools and DB2/CICS.

Position Overview: A large financial-services organization is seeking senior Mainframe Quality Engineering professionals to validate mission-critical core deposit and account-processing applications.

Specific Functions of This Role

• Lead quality engineering teams through multi-project bundles
• Focus on functional testing of core banking systems
• Proven abilities to identify issues quickly based on existing experience and knowledge
• Work on complex projects impacting core banking operations
• Provide senior level technical analysis and support for E2E project teams

Responsibilities

• Lead functional testing across core banking applications.
• Coordinate testing across multiple concurrent project bundles.
• Validate deposit-account functionality and business rules.
• Test online transactions and batch-processing workflows.
• Interpret and verify mainframe data.
• Execute end-to-end and integration testing.
• Identify defects and support root-cause analysis.
• Work with proprietary testing tools and repeatable scripts.
• Provide senior technical analysis to project teams.
• Mentor and guide junior testers.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of mainframe testing tools, network transaction processing, defect management and quality engineering methodologies
• 10 - 15+ years of quality engineering experience in a large mainframe system
• E2E capabilities and understanding of dynamic, complex technical environments are assets
• Core banking, deposit, or account-processing experience.
• Strong functional and end-to-end testing capability.
• Understanding of both online and batch processing.
• Experience interpreting mainframe data and system changes.
• Ability to manage work across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
