Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems seeks a senior Lead Application Support Specialist to serve as a top-level escalation resource for complex mainframe and banking processing issues within a large financial services environment.

The role leads incident investigations, mentors junior staff, and coordinates across development, operations, and production-support teams, with hybrid/remote-friendly work from Downtown Toronto. 6-12 month contract-to-hire.

Qualifications

10-15+ years in application development, analysis and mainframe support.
Strong CICS and batch-processing support.
Production incident leadership and root-cause analysis.
Experience leading complex incidents affecting high-volume banking transactions.
Mentor junior staff in mainframe troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Lead investigation of critical customer-impacting incidents.
Resolve complex online and batch-processing failures.
Analyze account, transaction, application, and data issues.
Serve as an escalation point for service requests.
Coordinate resolution across development, operations, and production-support teams.
Participate in incident recovery and root-cause analysis.
Provide leadership to developers and support staff.
Mentor junior professionals in mainframe troubleshooting.
Provide backup leadership support where required.
Participate in on-call rotation.
