Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Technical Analyst to lead optimization of mainframe infrastructure in a Development and Disaster Recovery team. You will provide expert z/OS/z/VM support, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive disaster recovery initiatives to ensure high system availability.

You will mentor colleagues, contribute to operational excellence, and collaborate across infrastructure, development, and partner teams to implement proactive solutions and strategic improvements.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands-on mainframe experience with in-depth knowledge of z/OS and z/VM.
• In-depth troubleshooting, resolution, and escalation capabilities under pressure.
• Proven change management and delivery of commitments.
• Proactive, self-starter mentality with focus on operational excellence and customer service.
• Operational expertise with z/OS tools (TSO, ISPF, REXX, System Automation).

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 technical support on a rotating 24/7 on-call basis for mainframe environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex z/OS/zVM issues with rapid problem determination.
• Lead disaster recovery planning, procedures, and testing.
• Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement remediation.
• Plan, implement, and roll out new mainframe technologies.
• Mentor team members on operational excellence and best practices.
• Establish processes to optimize availability and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and partners on change management.
